About Us
I Sew 4 U is Mother and Daughter team Shirley Murdoch and Toni Moffatt.
Shirley started her dressmaking business over 25 years ago and in 2008 Toni joined her and they introduced the business name "I Sew 4 U". With the sewing room moving from an upstairs back bedroom to a downstairs fitted out workroom with adjoining consultation /fitting room.
With I Sew 4 U been a home based business it allows us both the flexibility of accommodating appointment and fitting times to suit.

Shirley started in the clothing industry over 40 years ago. After working as a Clothing Cutter and Sample Machinist with various sports firms, Shirley decided to further her dressmaking skills and attended Patternmaking Classes at Night School and became an Image Consultant who can provide the services of Colour Analysis, Body Line and Style and Wardrobe Planning.
Shirley takes care of all of the consultations and fittings as well as the patternmaking and sewing.
Shirley's specialty is getting the perfect fit.

With Toni's Mother and both Grandmothers all been able to sew it was in no doubt she was going to follow in their footsteps. After coming top in the class at High School Clothing and Textiles she decided to attend Design Academy to learn Patternmaking and Advanced Sewing skills. After receiving her Diploma in Apparel Design and Construction she was immediately employed by Veronica Peppers of "Veronica Peppers Original Designs" (past winner of Benson and Hedges Young Designer of the Year) as her sewing assistant. Toni has also worked as a Clothing Cutter and Sample Machinist but her love of sewing lead her back to her roots and join forces with her mum.
